Naadan Paatu Arangettam was successful

1463 Participants from 41 school college $NGOs made their "Arangettam" first public presentation of Folk song of Kerala on 23rd january 2009.
As per the available Knowledge, this is the largest function in the filed of Folk songs in the World.

YLTPs Sri. S.Sivakumar, Sri. K.C.Praveen, Sri. Vellingiri, Sri.Dinesh and Sri.Guruvayurappan actively participated in the function. The program was orgnised by Aashrayam Rural Development Society, Kollengode, Palakad.

Training to the students were going on since Thiruvonam day, 2008. 32 Schools, 7 colleges, and 2 NGOs represented in the function. They belong to Chittur, Tattamangalam, Karippode, Vadavanoor, Kollengode, Vithanasseri, Nemmara, Alathur areas.
Folklore artist Mr.Janardhanan Puthusseri lead the training program.
The training was conducted at free of cost.
The function dedicated a folk song to Art of Living.

Invitaton to the World's largest folk song "Arangettam"

All are invited to attend the world's largest Folksong "Arangettam" of about 1000 village folk artists - from various schools and colleges - at palakkad Raappadi Open air auditorium at 2-7pm on 23rd January 2009 - Friday.


The Program is organised by Aashrayam Rural Development Society - Kollengode and Tattamangalam in association with Art of Living Foundation, Kerala State biodiversity Board, Nehru Yuva Kendra - Palakkad and Wildlife Protection Society of India- New Delhi.

Happiest occassion for Art of Living family of Tattamangalam.

As per the schedule, the Mahasivarathri Vilambara Jatha prayanam reached at Mettupalayam at 11.30 AM on 26th December 2008. It was coming from Palakkad via Koduvayoor Subcentre.

The Jatha team with Guruji's Statue, under the leadership of Mathruswamy was recieved with Thalappoli and Chendamelam.


Thalapoli was arranged by Srimathi Ramani teacher. The speech and the reception was made arranged at the Mettupalayam Junction under the rain tree.

Prof: Nasthikukar, The district co-ordinator made a introductory speech of the objectives of the jatha. Sri .Chandrettan - Co-ordinator of Tattamangalam sub centre made the the welcome speech and honoured the Mathruswamy with Haram. Mathruswami preached the inspiring knowledge of Poojya Sri Sri Ravishankar for about half an hour. The participants sat on the road and were happy in the occassion they got.
Immediately after the speech of Mathruswami, a sapling of Kanikonna was planted by him as part of United Nation's Mission Green Earth & AOL campaign in the garden where the speech was convened. Already one Goosbery and syzegium plants were planted on August 15th, 2008.

The role of Vote of Thanks was performed by Sri. S.Guruvayurappan. Advocate Santhadevi, Sri Sivadasan,Sri. Ramachandran and more teachers and organisers of AOL activities of Palakkad District attended the function. about 150 people of Tattamangalam and from Chittur participated in the reception. A lunch was arranged at Guruswamiar Matom at 12.30 to 2 Pm.

The YLTPs K.C.Praveen, Velliagiri, Rajesh.D, and the regular organisers such as Sri. Sundaran, Radhakrishnan, Rajendran, Pankajakshi etc took the effort to make the function to this stage. In additon to these people, Mr. Prajod Prabhakar, Mr. Dhanesh, Mr. Pranav, Mrs.Radhamani, Mis.Rajeswary etc. worked hard for this program.Mr. Manoj Palazhi was the photographer.
Mrs. K.S.Valliammal Shanmugham, Mrs.Krishnaveni Guruvayurappan, and Kum.Gaiathri took the leadership of cooking activities.

After taking a short rest, the Vilambarajatha Vehicle with the volunteers of tattamangalam, moved through, Neelikkad, Srikurumbakkavu, Mannathukavu, Chalamokku, Pallimokku. from there, The jatha team along with many volunteers of Tattamangalm passed through Pudunagaram to Vadavanoor. There was a short reception by the Kollengode subcentre people. Then the team received the reception at Kollengod in front of Gayathri Kalyanamandapam.



From there team moved to Nemmara at 4 Pm. As the function at Nemmara is at 5.15 pm, The whole team with Mathruswami and volunteers got down from the vehicle in between Karinkulam and vithnasseri, spent about 1.15 hours making a good discussion about guruji's knowledge, about palakkad and agriculture, mathruswami's expeciences etc. in themean time Parippuvada, snaks were made available by the volunteers - made the team encouraged with informal but productive time passing. Team reached nemmara at around 5.45 pm, a reception at Nemmara bus stand, mathruswami's speech held. Then at Nellikulangara temple maidan, satsang started at 7pm and ended at 8 Pm. The days scheudle was over by this time.
